Plitvice Lakes and Rivers - Canoe Hike Bike
The highlights of this multi-activity adventure package include
canoeing, hiking and biking in the area around the Plitvice Lakes
National Park, experiencing breathtaking views and stunning
scenery. The park, a World Heritage Site, plays host to 16 lakes,
numerous waterfalls fed by both the Black and White Rivers, as well as
seemingly endless forests which make for unique and unforgettable
experience. The itinerary will also take you on a journey down the
Mreznica, Korana, Zrmanja and Krupa rivers by kayak with an option to
raft on either Dobra or Una River, along the border between Croatia and
Bosnia.
Accommodation
is provided by the families of Korana Village, a small romantic place
hidden away in a valley either side of a river of the same name in
Plitvice National Park. The houses are small, traditional dwellings
with simple rooms in an idyllic setting. The peaceful atmosphere makes
for an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area.
| ITINERARY |

Day 1- Saturday: Leave
Zagreb or Rijeka airports behind on the transfer to Korana Village in
Plitvice Lakes National Park. After settling in to your accommodation,
join other members of the group in the evening for an informal light
meal by the river.

Day 2: You
cycle through forests, between hills and across green fields. This road
will lead you to the Barac caves for a guided underground tour. After
visiting the caves, there will be a time to relax and play. Return
later in the afternoon to Korana Village in time to enjoy a traditional
Croatian evening meal. (Please note that cycling the entire route
may be too difficult for small children). |

Day 3: A day of hiking around the lakes and highest waterfalls in the national park. |

Day 4: Expedition
into canyon and waterfalls of Mreznica River, with lots of swimming and
fun. This is the most beautiful part of the river, where the water
temperature in Summer can reach 25 degrees Celsius. We travel down
deep, narrow canyon and many waterfalls - up to 10 meters high. |

Day 5: Embark
on a river kayaking expedition along the Korana River canyon,
over numerous travertine waterfalls interspersed with calm, clear
water. and plenty of opportunities to cool off with a swim. The journey
meanders through a breathtaking landscape with narrow gorges, forests
and open meadows. Later in the day explore numerous streams and
waterfalls and mills of Rastoke, dine and relax in this romantic
setting. |

Day 6:Heading
south for canoeing down the magnificent wild-west-like canyons of
Zrmanja and Krupa Rivers. Enjoy the easy rapids, swimming in crystal
clear waters and shower under waterfalls. |

Day 7:A
day to be spent at leisure in the Village, or as an alternative, taking
a private trip in the park or travel to the nearby Bosnian town of
Bihac for an unforgettable rafting trip on the Una River Canyon,
culminating with a real Bosnian lunch and Turkish coffee – Please
note that rafting will incur an additional charge of approx £40 per
head, payable on site, and is dependent on suitable water levels. |

Day 8:Depart Korana village for the airport and flight home. |
The
itinerary is subject to change depending on group abilities and
preferences, weather, water levels, special events of interest and
similar. Finest of Croatia guides and trip leaders will do their best to
provide the best possible but safe experience for their clints. This
may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk
that may be caused by extensive heat or cold, stormy weather or heavy
traffic and similar. Finest of Croatia reserves the right to alternate program
without prior notice.

- Children discountis
valid for children 8-14 years of age if accompanied by an adult. 1
child enjoying discount shares parents’ room, 2 or more children can
have their own room.
- Rooms: Please note that the houses in Korana Village have 2 and 3 bed rooms, with 2 rooms sharing bathroom.
- No 1-bed rooms
are available. Single use rooms are available upon request, only as
double rooms/single use, with 20% surcharge. Sharing a room with
another person of the same sex is possible.
- Optional trip on day 7 is NOT included in price and can be booked and paid on spot.
- Please note that the bicycling tour
may not be suitable for young children because containing steep parts
but alternative arrangements can be made with the guide.
